Living in Melbourne

Melbourne has a multicultural population of just under 4 million people and is commonly referred to as Australia's cultural and sporting capital. Located in the south east of Australia and capital of the state of Victoria, it is the country's second biggest city after Sydney. It welcomes about 2 million international visitors every year. In a survey conducted by The Economist, Melbourne shared top place as the world's most livable city three times (2002, 2004 and 2005), based on factors such as its cultural attributes, climate, cost of living, and social conditions such as crime rates and health care.

Melbourne has a pleasant climate, beautiful natural surroundings and an easy-going lifestyle, and is known for its fantastic food.

We've put together these pages to give you an idea of what it's like to live and work in Melbourne. We've also included some quotes from Firemint employees, and some links to more information. If you have any questions about what Melbourne is like, please feel free to contact us!
