Living in Melbourne

In the summer you can go down to the beach after work, have a swim and go for a meal afterwards, and feel like you have done something after work. - Andy

Melbourne enjoys truly seasonal weather, with cool winters, mild spring and autumn and warm, dry summers. While there can be some frost and fog in winter, it is almost never cold enough to snow, although there are ski regions within a few hours drive of the city. Summer days can be very hot, but don't suffer from the humidity found closer to the equator.

  • Warmest month: February - exceptionally hot days can reach 41 or 42°C (average min 15.8 to max 26.5 °C)
  • Coldest month: July (average min 6.8 to max 13.9 °C)
  • Wettest month: October (average 69.5mm)
  • Dryest month: March (average 40mm)
